Dig It

Dig ItDig ItDig ItParker and Frankie helped Chris with his sprinkler project today.

As Chris always does, he meticulously measured and plotted a series of flags, marking the trench he had to dig for the PVC pipe.

Some of you have probably guessed what Chris discovered when he got to the end of the line...Parker was right behind him. A large smile spread across his face having picked up all the flags Daddy had left behind.

Yes. Chris was pissed but I reminded him that he would be laughing at this later.

And you know what...I was right.

When Trillos come together, a little air guitar is inevitable. And with Eric leading the charge, yeah, can you hear ''Margaritaville'' coming through in this picture?

Happy Birthday Carli!

Carli's BirthdayCarli's BirthdayCarli's BirthdayCarli's BirthdayWe headed over to Tehachipi to celebrate Carli's birthday. As usual, Parker took a little time to warm up to everyone. (Arriving late didn't help either.) But on the bright side, it gave him a chance to find some one-on-one time with the birthday girl, not to mention Grandpa.

2 Month Check-up

2 Month Check-up
2 Month Check-up,

Piper's 2 months old and all smiles...at least for now. We headed to the doctor's office for a check-up. Her current stats are...
-- 10 pounds, 4 ounces
-- 23 inches long
-- 40.5 cm head circumference

Something we'll have to keep an eye on is a detected heart murmur. It was hard for the doctor to tell for sure between Piper's crying and Parker's yapping (yeah, he would not shut up about his imaginary super hero robot friends). But to be safe, we'll need to take Piper to see a specialist. Will have to update you later about that.

Otherwise, Piper had a pretty good time at the doctor and things would have ended with all smiles if it weren't for the vaccinations at the end of the visit. 5 shots. Poor baby!

That's right. Don't get in Parker's way. Because if he has to elbow past you...POW! He just might put you in the hospital.

Survivor

Parker had his 4 year check-up today.

Now before I had Piper, Parker was still my little guy. But when I got close to my delivery date I had to stop picking him up. Of course, after Piper was born I go and pick him up and discover that my little boy is not so little any more. He was heavy and felt more solid.

Well, today the numbers are in. He's now 38-1/4 inches tall and 33.6 pounds.

It doesn't seems so big in writing but trust me...he's growing really fast!

Of course, he also got two shots at the doctor's office. So to compensate him for his pain we went out to Ben and Jerry's afterward. I should weigh him to see if he's gotten any heavier. I know I do after a visit to B&J's.

The Party Continues

The Party ContinuesThe Party ContinuesThe Party ContinuesThe Party Continues
So, we figured for Parker's 4th birthday, we'd do a big party -- one where we invite all his friends from daycare. That said, we couldn't have it at the house; I mean who's really going to drive their kid that far for a party? So, as I mentioned in an earlier entry, we decided to have his party at the Kidspace Children's Museum in Pasadena.

What a great place for a party. Not only do the families get to go to the museum before (and after, if it were still open) the party for ''free''. But they have people running the party, keeping things fun and entertaining for the kids. I love it! And so did the kids. They got to see and learn about turtles and tarantulas. Plus they got to play the kiddie party favorite -- parachute game -- plus an cruise ship favorite -- limbo. How low can you go?!

The best part, no clean up! :o)

Parker's Birthday Gift

So here's our gift for Parker this year.

Chris says that he digs the idea of Parker having a cool pedal car to tool around the house. I he was sold on the marketing burst on the package, "Only 2,999 pieces". You see it there in the middle?

Yeah, Parker should be glad I wasn't in charge of the gift because that would have been placed back on the virtual shelf (it was purchased online) and he would have gotten something less...complex. Like underoos.

What would St. Patrick's Day be without the races?

BC, Aimee, Geof, Larry, Pete, Ravi and Chris' mom joined us this year.

The big winner? Larry who hit the trifecta in the last (or was it next to last) race.

The big loser? Hey, when friends get together there is no loser. :o) At least that's what I tell myself to make me feel better.

Still Crazy After All These Weeks

Yes, I'm talking about Piper's hair.

Is 7 weeks too young for hair product? I'm not talking about mouse or hair spray...but a little hair gel while it's still wet could very well do wonders.

Hmmm...I'm still going to have to think about it. Until then, though, the crazy hair will continue.

Action Movie Night

Action Movie Night
Action Movie Night,

So, Parker and I watched Prince Caspian. Now, Parker loves action movies, especially ones with sword fighting because that means he can grab his sword and fight along side the movie.

It sounds annoying but it's actually pretty awesome. He swings the sword around and around. When he sees arrows sailing, he throws it. Then, in order to retrieve the sword, he does a Shatner roll across the floor. Again, AWESOME!

Of course, I say that because we're not watching the film in a theater.

Yes, that's Chris' tractor on its side. I guess he didn't realize that he was hitting a hill of dirt. Unprepared, he didn't have time to react and prevent the tip over. Luckily, he was wearing his seat belt and kept his arms in the vehicle (and didn't try to break his fall with his arm). Chris survived the fall relatively unharmed.

And the tractor, you ask? Our neighbor (and his tractor) helped us flip it back up on its tires.
