Karate Chop!
yellow belt!
That's right. Don't get in Parker's way. Because if he has to elbow past you...POW! He just might put you in the hospital.

Parker has his 2nd Karate Graduation today. Currently, he's been wearing a white belt with a black strip but today is the day he earns his white/yellow belt.
Things started out as expected. The kids sat in a row and wait for their uniforms to come sailing at them -- yes, sailing through the air, which give them an opportunity to do a face block.
Once dressed, Parker proved to be too antsy to sit still and listen so he was removed from the rest of the group and had to sit by himself in the ''corner''. (Yes, I'm looking at you Mr. Trillo.)
But he eventually got to join in with the rest of the group. First he demonstrated my favorate...Knife Hand! Then he had to do a side kick and break a board. AH-SAH!
The deed done, Parker moves on to the next level. Good job, Little One!

This year I decided to attend the annual Craft Night that Parker's daycare hosts. The little guy loved it but more because it gave him an opportunity to play with all the different toys in each classroom.
Now I know the pics here show him crafting away, but, for the most part, I got stuck doing the projects unless I got fed enough to make him focus on the purpose of the night.
We did, though, make time to see Santa. And what did Parker ask for from Santa? ''Presents.'' All right, I guess someone won't be disappointed this year.
BTW, the little spot over Parker's lip isn't an early onset mustache. He fell of a wall earlier that week and scrapped his lip. Of course, right before we were scheduled to take some family pics. Looks like that's going to be postponed.

Parker's school pictures came in and look who's Momma's little angel?
Of course, his class pictures tell a different story...Can you guess who got the most laughs off his class picture pose? Makes one think twice when someone says they've been a good boy today.

In honor of Talk Like a Pirate Day, I thought I'd post the Pirate Dance that Parker learned at his first dance class, which was on Tuesday.

Parker's been in a karate class at daycare and today he graduates to a new belt. All he had to do was break a board in half...WHAT? Yes, you read that correctly, my little guy broke a board in half with his foot. AWESOME! Granted, the board is something like balsa and I wouldn't be surprised if the teacher was flexing it a bit to help it break. But it broke nonetheless, which allowed Parker to earn his new black & white belt.

So Parker and I are leaving daycare and his friend Lucas screams out the window, "Bye Cookie!" Then another friend, Hailey, joins him. "Bye Cookie!"
Cookie?
So the next day I ask his teacher about this Cookie business. "Why do the other kids call Parker "Cookie"?"
But she didn't know. It just seems like Lucas started it and it stuck. Even the other parents have notices the nickname and have commented on it.
Personally, I like it. It's kind of funny. But when I ask Parker, "Who's Cookie?" he responds with "I'm Parker." so I can't tell if he likes it or not.
I don't know, Parker. "Cookie Trillo" has a nice ring to it.

So it was the end of the day and I was at the daycare to pick up Parker. One of the teachers noticed that there was blue crayon scribbled on the table so she mentioned to one of Parker's classmates (and actually, one of his best friends at school), "Tyler, did you color on the table? You know, you're not suppose to color the table?"
Like a doe caught in a set of headlights, he just innocently looks up and responded, "Parker did it."
Okay, kid. Now, knowing Parker, he probably did do it. But this is something to remember in the future. When denying responsibility for the blue crayon on the table, don't do it with blue crayons tightly gripped in both of your meatpaws.

Parker really enjoyed singing during group time this morning. He got very excited while singing "If you're happy." He started dancing real fast while laughing out loud. It was darling.

We took Parker and the rest of the class to visit room 102 [another classroom at daycare]. He really enjoyed exploring the room. This might be the room he will be going to end of June.

All Aboard!
Parker was helping me pull the outdoor wagon with three children inside of it by pushing the rear of it. We walked around the courtyard in circles for about 10 minutes. He enjoyed helping me.

There was a wonderful moment with Parker and Tereza (one of the daycare teachers) today. Parker was grabbing her head and giving her kisses on her cheeks. It was adorable.

Parker has been saying a lot of words today such as yellow, bird, bus and car. It has been the most I have heard him say.

We let the children on the climbing structure for the first time today. Parker really enjoyed it. He first needed to hold both of my hands to go down the slide. At the end of our yard time, he was comfortable holding one of my hands. He was very excited the whole time.

BTW, I don't think I mentioned it before by Ruth is Parker's primary caregiver at daycare.

"Parker and Tyler had fun this morning. They were playing peek-a-boo. Parker was standing on one side of the cabinet and Tyler on the other side. They would bend down to try to hide, jump up, and say "Peek-a-boo!" It was darling."
